As a high school graduation present my parents bought me a 4 megapixel Olympus camera. I had no idea what an obsession that would create. What fascinated me was how just by watching and waiting I could take a candid photo what was truly beautiful and worth saving. My friends would get annoyed because instead of participating in their conversations I would just be watching for the right moment to photograph them. I realize the human face is the most beautiful thing in the world. This is what makes me a through and through portrait photographer. As much as I love to travel, landscape photography just doesn’t satisfy me unless I can put a person in the photo!
When I decided to turn my passion into a profession, I began a year long internship with a professional photographer and learned photo retouching, large format printing, and was given the opportunity to hone my photography skills at weddings and other photo sessions. The next year I became a full-time professional photographer and have not looked back since.
I love to explore coastlines and mountains. Any place with both of those is paradise in my book. Some of my favorite adventures so far were in South Africa, Puerto Rico, Culebra, California, Maine, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, France, Hawaii, England, Ireland, Italy, and Mexico.
